İşte o an benim için her şeyin ötesindeydi.

I have to admit, for the past few days, I’ve been glued to my screen, watching the mission as if I were tucked away in a corner of that capsule myself. It’s mind-blowing to think that humanity has reached its furthest point from Earth. Looking at those desolate yet stunning lunar landscapes, it’s impossible not to feel a sense of awe. But as I witness this history in the making, I can't help but notice how brands are playing their parts on this massive stage.

I’m just an observer, but I’ve always enjoyed looking at things through the lens of a "story." Take the Apple and Samsung situation, for instance. Full disclosure: I’m a Samsung user. I’ve always liked that my phone is a "Galaxy"—it has that universal feel. But you have to give credit where it’s due; Apple just scored a goal from the Moon, and as a Samsung user in the stands, I can't help but tip my hat.

When NASA confirmed that those breathtaking moon photos shared by the astronauts were captured using the iPhone 17 Pro Max, it changed the game. Whether it was a calculated partnership or a simple choice in the moment, the result was brilliant. As someone who uses a phone that has spent years marketing its "Moon shots," watching the competitor make such a quiet yet powerful statement was quite something. It made me realize that sometimes, it’s not about what your name is, but whose hands you are in when history is being made.

However, the moment that truly stayed with me was something else: The Nutella jar.

If you were watching the live feed, you probably saw it—that jar of Nutella floating gracefully across the screen, enjoying the zero gravity. To me, that was everything. A brand could spend millions of dollars and have months of meetings with the most brilliant minds, and they still wouldn't be able to capture the sincerity of that single frame.

I believe the real magic there isn't about "advertising." It’s about the bond between a human being—an astronaut—and a product. In the midst of all that stress and the great unknown, they wanted to bring a piece of home, a familiar taste, along for the ride. That’s true success. The talent isn't in the marketing; it’s in building such a deep connection with the user that they carry your product all the way to lunar orbit. It’s a love story that money can’t buy, happening naturally.

In the end, while the planned, genius campaigns are impressive, my heart will always favor those organic, "I'm glad that happened" moments. Because real life is always more creative than the best-written script.

A humble note of thanks:

I can’t wrap this up without sending my love and respect to Enis Orhun and Fatih Tüyoğlu—the masters behind the agency formerly known as C-Section, which made a name for itself with groundbreaking digital campaigns in Turkey. They are the ones who showed me how to look at the world of stories and taught me so much about the soul of this business.
